COVID-19 related guidelines

MASKS ARE REQUIRED

In order to protect our employees and renters from potential COVID-19 infections, we have set rules requiring all employees and guests to have a face mask while at our office, garage, or patio.

The CDC has determined that wearing a mask will reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

We practice Social Distancing at our location. The CDC has published information on the benefits of Social Distancing. These are some of the actions we are taking to practice Social Distancing:

  • Keeping 6 feet between employees and guests
  • Usage of floor decals to mark 6 feet distance
  • Conducting rental transactions outside, weather permitting
  • Keeping air conditioning systems running and/or windows and doors open to allow for air circulation
  • Limiting the number of guests within our offices at a particular time
  • Instruct our employees to constantly wash hands and use sanitizer
  • Use gloves, mask, and disinfectant chemicals while checking in, checking out, and cleaning vehicles

CLEANING PROTOCOLS

Auto Spot follows CDC protocols and recommendations for cleaning and disinfecting our offices and vehicles.

  4. Have a valid Credit Card under your name and use it to pay for your deposit and rental.
  5. You must be 25 years of age or older. Some of our cars are available for renters 21+ and under 25 with an under age fee. Please consult with our team if you are under 25.
  6. You must be fit to drive our vehicles. We reserve the right to deny the rental if under our judgment you might be intoxicated, incapacitated, or otherwise impaired to drive a motor vehicle.

While you need to have your original documents with you when you pick up  your rental vehicle, we will have to either scan them or photocopy them. If you want to save time, you can bring copies of them with you or you can email them to us. Our email address is [email protected]. If you email your documents, please make sure to include your reservation number when emailing us. The system will give you a reservation number upon concluding the booking process.

Age Requirements

Most of our cars are available for renters 21+ and under 25, including all of our daily driver vehicles. The rest of our fleet, including luxury cars, sports cars, and performance cars are available for any renter 25 or older. Rental pick-up process

  1. If you booked your car online, arrive at our office at the scheduled pick up time and make sure you bring with you:
    1. Valid and unexpired driver’s license
    2. Proof of collision and liability insurance
    3. A valid credit card (physical card only). If you paid online, you must bring the credit card you used to pay online.
  2. Our staff will go over your information, make sure that your documents are valid and unexpired, and will call your insurance agent to make sure your policy covers the rented vehicle and state statutory liability. If your policy doesn’t cover the basic needs, you can purchase RCP (Rental Collision Protection), LDW (Loss Damage Waiver), or Travel Insurance from us.
  3. Once the paperwork is completed, you’ll be charged the full amount of the rental and the deposit on your car. You’ll also do a walkaround the car with our team to document the car’s condition.
  4. Once everything is ready, you’ll sign the rental agreement and you’ll be able to drive off.
  5. When you come back, please make sure you bring the car reasonably clean and with a full tank of gas.

Deposits and Authorizations

We process rental charges and deposits through your credit card. In addition to your rental charges, we will process also a deposit to your card on file. Most deposits are between $250 and $1,000. Additional deposit amounts might be needed for specialty, luxury, sports, and performance cars; renters with debit cards; and under-age renters.

Debit card payments and deposits

LA Auto Spot conducts rentals only with Credit Cards. We have the ability to rent to debit card holders under certain particular circumstances. Additional documents such as proof of residency, travel itineraries, passport might be needed, in addition to an increased deposit. You must bring a physical credit card for rental. If you booked and paid online, you must bring the card you used for payment. The card must be under your name and have your name embossed.

Paying your deposit

LA Auto Spot accepts only major credit cards. We do not accept prepaid cards or credit building cards (Cash App, Chime, etc.). If you have any questions about your method of payment, please contact our office. In some particular cases, we would be able to take a debit card issued by a major bank, however, this is determined on a case by case basis. Under no circumstances would we accept a cash deposit for your rental.

Additional Drivers

One additional, direct family line driver is permitted without extra charge. Additional driver must be also fully insured and hold a valid, unexpired driver’s license.

Fuel Policy

Vehicles must be returned with a full tank of gas. If a vehicle is returned with missing gas, we will charge you a refueling fee and the cost of fuel at the rate per gallon posted at our office at the time of pick up and specified on your Rental Agreement.
